Island tour Leaving Santa Maria you travel to the bay of Murdeira for a quick stop while the guide explains some of the rich history of Sal before you then travel to Espargos, the capital of Sal where those on the full day trip will be stopping for either lunch (included in full day trip) or a drink.
the island tour then heads to the village of Palmeria to see the fishing pier, the to Burracona to see the natural phenomena, the ‘Blue Eye’ where you may even get a chance to swim in the clear blue waters, and then off to Terra Boa where you see the extraordinary mirages on the desert.
You will then head to the Salinas salt mines of Pedra da Lume.
Here you can take a dip in the salt waters where you can float in the water just as in the Dead Sea, well worth experiencing.
After stopping for lunch, you then head back to Santa Maria to take some fabulous photos of the bay.
