In the heart of Santa Maria, and its own sandy beach, Odjo d’Agua is a small, family-run hotel with an authentic Cape Verdean feel. With a charming interior with personal touches such as antiques and photographs from the owners’ history, the warmth of the greeting adds to this family atmosphere as well as guests receiving a personal guided tour of the hotel. The rooms are simple but comfortable and are situated on two floors; upgrades include sea views and suites.
From the pool area and restaurant area, the views along the shore are fabulous. Perched on a promontory, the restaurant comes alive at night with gentle live music and serving fresh seafood. it includes three evening meals per week, offering a convenient way to experience the cuisine at the hotel and also in Santa Maria, where there is an impressive array of restaurants serving local or international cuisine as well as bars and a variety of shops and stalls.
There is a small sheltered sandy cove, ideal for sunbathing and paddling. For a stroll along the beach, the soft white sand and crystal clear waters stretch as far as the eye can see. Please note there are steps and unguarded drops around this hotel making it unsuitable for the less mobile.
