On Cape Verde or Cabo Verde, the post code system is very general in its location. The first digit represents the Island, the 2nd digit represents the community, the 3rd digit represents the district of community, the last digit represents the post office. That roughly gets you to the local post office, but not much good if you want to find an exact location.
This website is using an app. called 'what3words' This may look a bit odd when you see an image with three words written on it, but, it is the exact location, within three metres, where the image was taken. Click on the image and it brings up a map of the location. If you have the app on your phone, then you can navigate to the exact place of the image.
what3words is a really simple way to talk about location. They have divided the world into a grid of 3m x 3m squares and assigned each one a unique 3 word address. It means anyone can accurately find any location and share it more quickly, easily and with less ambiguity than any other system.
If you break down in your car, you will have an exact location to 'share' with either a friend, or, the emergency services.
